A Message from the Pro Vice-Chancellor International of Auckland University:
AUT University was established in 1895 and is one of New Zealand 's largest universities. It is a national leader in a wide range of programmes and provides an outstanding environment of teaching and learning for its 24,000 students including 4,000 international students from over 60 countries. AUT offers pathways from foundation studies to PhD. The University's close links with both industry and the professions means a high graduate employment rate.
The AUT International Foundation Certificate has been taught exclusively through Norton College since May 2003. This programme has been designed to prepare international students for entry into AUT's degree programmes by equipping each student with essential subject knowledge, English language training and tertiary study skills.
AUT guarantees university entrance to students whose results in the International Foundation Certificate meet the published standards required for the University's degree programmes, and who meet other entry requirements for admission to the University.
The AUT International Foundation Certificate is approved and accredited by the New Zealand Vice Chancellors' Committee and is a recognised qualification for entry to all New Zealand universities.
I am pleased to advise that the success rate of students from Norton College, who have commenced AUT degrees, has generally exceeded that of other student groups.
On behalf of AUT, I welcome you to our International Foundation Certificate programme and look forward to welcoming you to the University on successful completion of your foundation studies at Norton College.
